Adventure in India: Bombay film trailer

When a rag-tag trio of tourists visit Mumbai after the terrorist bombing, it’s Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels meets Bollywood.

Seriously though, this is a mini trailer showing the style that the film will be created in.

The entire film is shot with a Sony T500 point and shoot camera and a Canon DSLR.

The idea is to create a compelling film with two common pieces of technology: a point and shoot camera (with video), and a DSLR.

In my case I use a Canon 5D.

I realize that the 5D is a bit more expensive than some entry level cameras, however a Nikon D40 or Canon 30D would achieve the same purpose when creating a Hi-Def film.

Hang on, the rest is coming soon :)

Hot stuff Kirk! You get a lot out of the technology. Not sure which is scarier – the cab ride or the crying babies!

    Thanks Harry!

I love storytelling and I love geeky tech stuff and gadgets.

The cab rides are not scary once you let go and let fate take over.

The crying babies on the other hand(!)

Awesome man, you had me laughing at the transition to the cab ride. Nice one with the references to the hilarious Indian internet memes!

Great job Kirk! I love how you get great results out of such simple tools. Did you use the Sony’s mike or did you use an external device?

    Michael-

For this film I will be using the Sony T500 on-board mic. It is a fairly nice stereo mic and with a tiny bi of tweaking in FCP’s audio editor it has a nice tone.

    Thomas-

    A Lufthansa partnership? :)
    That would be great!

Not sure if they want to be associated with a cry-baby fest of a flight though.

The next parts are coming and quickly veer away from the getting there to the being there. I can;t wait to show those bits and ultimately the finished product.
