Here are some pictures from the last four days, as I traveled with another photographer friend of mine through the San Jaun Islands near Seattle, on a mini photo trip!

Two Type 55 photos of Jimi Mud, an amazingly cool guy who had a huge red, white and blue sailboat on his lawn. Having semi-retired from driving a hay truck in California for 20 years, Jimi moved to Orcas Island where he is building a new house and doing woodworking.

Dave and Joan Rorabaugh, a very interesting and free spirited couple that rent Kayaks in Crescent Bay on Orcas Island. Joan swims in the ocean every day and collects drift wood logs that she sculpts into mermaids, crabs and masks in her woodworking workshop.

The Seattle Space Needle flanked by the Experience Music Project in Seattle’s downtown area.

Two horses on an Orcas farm with thier little fly masks on.

The fountain at the Seattle Science Center— Double exposure— I have some normal ones too…but I thought it would be fun to post this one.

Summit and Base views of the Wild Horse Monument outside of Vantage, WA. Giant horses made of steel crest a cliffside above the bridge that crosses the Columbia River.

Sea Kayaking with Erika around Crescent Bay and over to Madrona Point on Orcas Island. at one point a flock of geese cruised over Erika’s head.
View of Mt. Baker and the San Juan Islands from the top of Mt. Constitution on Orcas Island.
You can see Erika in the lower rigth hand corner. I used a split neutral density (two of them….stacked.) to bring the contrast of the sky and foreground closer together. The filters also intensified the pink in the sky. I like how it turned out…
Madrona trees on Orcas.

Dead and windblown trees on Oracas.

Sailboat heading to Orcas as we head the other direction via ferry boat.
