If the color comes out bad, make it black and white.

If the color is funky and you like it, go with it.

These are my tips of the day.

To get good quality for now (while I work on creating Photoshop Actions for the iPhone) get your iPhone photos into Lightroom, tweak them gently, and export them using the export setting ‘Sharpen for Screen’, ‘High’.

More soon….

i’ve been enjoying your blog for awhile. i work at UW and also a photographer of sorts around town.
your “digital holga” has me convinced that my next major purchase isn’t the latest full frame slr, but the iphone. i’ve passed on your blog link to a few people and will continue to follow along.

    Thanks puja!

The iPhone is an incredible camera if you are careful how you shoot it and process the images.

I’m anm in the process of releasing Lightroom and Photoshop actions specifically for the iPhone so you can get the most form this 2-megapixel camera.

What sets the iPhone apart is how little invasive image processing occurs at time of capture. Sure the images are a bit soft, but they keep a warm organic feeling and if handled properly remind me more of analog film than anything digital.

Hit me up if you need any iPhone processing tips etc…

The iPhone photos are impressive! After watching them I realized that I can no longer blame iPhone for having a crappy camera, it is I who am a crappy photographer.

However I like taking photos and after reading your blog I decided to really make an effort and try to learn taking decent photos using my iPhone.

Would love to read more about what one can do using Photoshop/Lightroom/iPhone :)
