- I am an outdoor lifestyle photographer and filmmaker based in Seattle WA. I love to push the envelope with my work and I enjoy sharing what I learn along the way.
This blog will show both current work as well as how-to's and insight on becoming a better photographer and DSLR filmmaker.

Scenes from a Wedding
Chris and Danny. Spokane, WA. 2008.
At a wedding a few weeks ago I ran into two amazingly talented musicians performing with a band called the Renovators.
I was immediately struck by their cool 70′s style and the fact that they rock out together on stage.
Twin guitar players!
They are moving to L.A. soon to strike out on their own and start recording albums. I wish them the best and if you have a chance to see them I would recommend it.

I went to a party and all I got was this shirt

Went to a surprise party for my good friend Ryan Schuetze and shortly before getting really sick (literally) from Jim Beam, I asked Bryan for a quick photo.
Aren’t mullets fantastic?

**I want to also thank the cool guy with the beard and afro and Fast Friday t-shirt that brought me water while I weathered the Jim Beam fiasco.

Shawn Gust at The Helm, Tacoma WA
Shawn Gust. Tacoma, WA. 2008

My good friend Shawn Gust came into town last weekend to check out an amazing photography show at The Helm gallery in Tacoma WA, where he is one of the main artists.
Shawn’s project focuses on adolescence. I could try to tell you his artist statement but I’m afraid I will mangle it. Needless to say, Shawn has an amazing ability to get behind the mask of an individual and find the real depth of their character.
Shawn manages to create a unique body of work without having to move to NY, LA, Paris or any other photographic center. He proves that if you have vision and ability you can create something meaningful wherever you live.
I recommend seeing his show in Tacoma if you are in the area. It’s very very worth it.
