I believe in a lo-fi, hi-style method of storytelling: reaching a larger audience with the equipment you already have.

In the end, it is the story that matters… not the equipment.

A visual storyteller for the last seven years, Kirk has worked for the New York
Times, Aurora Photos, the Associated Press and many other photo distribution
networks nationwide.

In addition to national editorial work Kirk has created a thriving commercial photography business in Seattle WA. In 2006, Kirk attended the prestigious Eddie Adams Workshop in Liberty, NY, where he worked on photo and multimedia projects alongside editors from National Geographic, the Washington Post and the New York Times. At this workshop, Kirk made business connections which would lead to multimedia projects for the New York Times and other clients.

Moving beyond still photography, Kirk has worked as a cinematographer on a full length documentary as well as writing, shooting and producing several short documentary pieces for the web. Kirk teaches visual storytelling in Seattle and nationwide and his personal work with the Flip Video camera is featured by technology editor David Pogue of the New York times.

In his spare time, Kirk explores the incredible outdoor recreation available in
Washington State including sea kayaking, mountaineering and rock climbing.
