Two from the 5D: Bryan Clark

Sir Bryan Clark. Gas Works Park, Seattle WA.

This last week I have been moving from Wallingford to Magnolia, two distinct neighborhoods in Seattle.

Moving is stressful. Working with clients at the same time as well as participating in a book/art project is stressful too.

Somehow I managed to squeeze in a photo shoot with my friend Bryan as part of the Aurora15 project in between shuttling things between houses and finishing several projects with current clients.

The first image was shot with a Canon 5D and a 17-40mm lens. The second image was shot with a Canon 5D and 70-200mm lens.

As usual I used the sunny 16 rule (old school method of calculating exposure in your head) and then brought the photos into Lightroom for 80% of the toning, finishing with some more stylized toning in Photoshop.

I haven’t been shooting much fixed gear related imagery for a while but I think I’ll be hitting it hard again this fall and wrapping up a final culminating film about fixed gear culture this winter.

great toning on both. way to make the huge dof work on the first one…it gives me a lot to look at.
