It is no coincidence that the founder, Benjamin Barnett, lived in Prague in 1990 (teaching English) and traveled extensivly in the region. His time&#039;s at the Press Club, many cafes, homes, speakeasys, etc. helped shape the busienss that was created 7 years later in Philadelphia. Media Bureau put Politics online in Philadelphia with the first webcasts in 1999 and was a driving indie force in 2000 at the US political conventions as one of the few independent voices producing regular (spanish/english)shows from the convention floors in Los Angeles and Philadelphia. The idea of Samistadt (Sp?) and it&#039;s use int he Velvet revolution was ingrained as well ... Today (since1999) the Media Bureau has a cafe / newsroom that has produced &quot;thousands&quot; of webcasts and offers this space and solution to budding ijournalists or the like.
