The iPhone has become my Flip Video camera for still photography.

Like the Flip it is:

1. Discreet.
2. With me all the time.
3. Has no controls to fuss with, only a shutter button.
4. Produces images that are good enough for the web, where most content will live for the foreseeable future.

As the Apple App store expands, we will no doubt see many programs specifically related to the camera function of the iPhone. I predict Adobe will make a simple photo editing app for the iPhone, while others will make improvements to the camera program itself including manual adjustments of exposure and white balance.

With the iPhone you have all the tools you need to write, shoot and publish photo stories (as long as the event occurs in decent lighting conditions.)

At this point I continue to push the image quality of the 2.0 megapixel phone as far as I can.
